The Beast audio server from ReQuest is designed for high-performance two-channel audio installations as well as whole-house A/V installations that require ReQuest technologies.
ReQuest has been designing and manufacturing audio servers well before audio servers were seen as the "future of audio". Over the years the company has contributed a number of innovations to what was then a niche category. Today the audio server market is big and is still getting bigger. Helping to drive the category's mass adoption are products like its flagship Beast audio server.
The Beast is engineered for two-channel audio and whole-house A/V applications. It supports the playback of high-resolution audio formats, including 88k, 96k, 174k, 192k, and 84K, as well as the audiophile DSD format. The Beast incorporates the company's ArQlink that helps ReQuest and its dealers to monitor Beast installations in the field. It also offers the ability to remotely sync multiple iTunes libraries to enable homeowners to access and control their iTunes content from anywhere.Highlighting some of the technical aspects of The Beast are its dedicated, shielded power supply and power stabilizer. Internally it incorporates a heat-controlled DAC circuit board and fully isolated DC circuitry. The Beast's inputs include XLR (balanced) analog pass-through, as well as a choice of XLR, RCA, AES/EBU, PRO i2S, and optical digital outputs. The Beast also offers an optional MSB Diamond volume control.
